this album blew me away, it's just brilliant. richard's soft voice brings you in and the instrumentation this time is a bit more stripped back, it's a great record

Great songs as good as anything from his previous albums

Perhaps the most wonderful aspect of this, Hawley's seventh full length studio album, is the sequence. Each song elides into the next with subtle calibrations of tone making the whole much grander and ambitious than the sum of its parts. Hawley isn't frightened of staying in the same key and tempo for a while and the effect, with tracks of such quality, is mesmerising. If Truelove's Gutter was his Tonight's The Night then this is his In The Wee Small Hours.

Hawley has delivered another great album of songs, more in the vein of love songs and touches of country, nothing like the also great Standing at the Skies Edge. All in his wonderful smoke infused baritone. You don't need to hear the words, just sink into the feeling and that voice. Very enjoyable.

Majestic and magnificent, RH returns to deliver another timeless album. Full of tunes that wash over you like the sea laps the shore. More subtle in its sound than Sky's Edge, don't know how he keeps delivering such brilliant songs! Looking forward to seeing him in Birmingham in November.
  • Sublime!

This man gets better and better and this album is just sublime. Reading about some of his life experiences in the recent past you can see how he takes those experiences and creates. The music is beautiful, with great musicianship, the arrangements understated but totally effective. Looking forward to seeing him live for the first time, in Amsterdam, later this year.

No offence mate, your an artist trying to be something your most definitely not. Hollow Meadows sounds like a dumb name and the single is awful lyrically as the last album was. Sorry!
