The Mike Curb Congregation
Its such a shame that the version of 'Burning Bridges' on this album is not the original recording! I think the majority of buyers want the original recording from the film, I know thats certainly what i was looking for! Luckily I have the original 45 released in 1970, but can anyone clarify why they were originally called The Mike Morton Congregation??? Either way, if itunes decide to release the original recording im going to be there like a shot! Such a great soundtrack to such an amazing film! WOOF WOOF WOOF!!!
Burning Bridges lost forevermore?
Kelly 1944 is right, Burning Bridges is not the same song from Kelly's Heroes, which is a shame. Until that version of the song gets released (hint, hint), this one will have to do. It still does the job mind, whenever I listen to it I can't help but remember Clint driving through the Germsn occupied town in the opening credits. Sadly they really don't make them like that anymore...
Mike Curb - Burning Bridges
By Kelly 1944
This isn't the same as the version on kelly's Heroes - it lacks the military drum beat and is much softer. Same lyrics, different sound - you might be disappointed if you're after the film version....
This one track,is possibly my favourite movie theme. The years roll away when I hear it;when clint and I were but lads!
Great song from agreat movie!

Fantastic, been looking for 'Burning Bridges' by Mike and his Congregation for ages. Only cost me 79 pence for the download and 90 quid for the Ipod. Bargain. Summons up all sorts of images. Clint Eastwood, a barking Donald Sutherland, Nazis in big tanks, wartime France, the end of the sixties, greed, and Kojak. I'm not a war film addict but there's something about the combination of this cast, the script, and the soundtrack that strikes a chord. Makes me want to go and liberate some gold.
