With his untimely death today let's pay tribute by getting his albums and songs back in the charts. First Bowie, then Glenn Frey now Prince what's going on?.

Take a heavy dose of R&B, add a sprinkling of early 80s electronica, throw in a couple of beautiful falsetto ballads and mix it all up with a whole heap of funk. The result is this fantastic album. Some of Prince's most atmospheric songs are here, including Little Red Corvette and my personal fave, Automatic.
  • Maybe the best Album

This is where it all began for me with this Album and although not his best Album for me it will always be very special. Love it!

He's funky, he's spunky, he's a cheeky little monkey. Prince demonstrated the true nature of his genius by inventing text speach a decade before the advent of the mobile phone. Purple's gain was Orange's loss.

I am 10 again, if my mum and dad knew the lyrical content of this record back then i would not have been able to enjoy the pure funk that it is.

I have been a devoted Prince fan for as long as I can remember and owned practically all his albums apart from this one... Until the other day. I'm gutted that I've gone so many years without owning this album. "Lady Cab Driver" and "Let's Pretend We're Married" have been on constant repeat since I downloaded it... it's Prince at his filthy best. Just the way I like him! "1999" is an absolute classic and brings back memories of watching him sing it live at one of his famous aftershow parties. Buy it. The whole album is pure 80s funk at it's absolute best!!!

though i'm not actually normally a fan of prince, i quite like this album. normally if someone would ask me if i prefer michael jackson or prince, i'd reply "definetly michael, i mean he's the king of pop!" but after listening to the songs on this album, i'm not quite sure... kudos to the title track i'm a fan now!
