Like many I first heard Take me to Church, and like most it remains my favourite track. But there is much more to this album than one track. The album is a beautiful transcript of lost love and hope in a dreary world. To some of us who listen to each lyric and hang on to each guitar strum it opens a world of beauty and loneliness but not regret. It belongs up there with Jeff Buckley's Grace. A stunning album. Hoziers voice is beautiful an Irish gem. I recently saw his gig in Cardiff and his talent is limitless, a standing theatre, hundreds on their feet when take me to church was played. Thank goodness that we have some class music and a truly legendary artist.
  • Drift away for a little

    By Biffy rule
Seemingly endless wonder and beauty told through a voice as wide ranging and beautiful as the lyrics, sometimes dark but with a feeling your being carried through the evil and chilling words by a close friend and companion. Sedated is an absolute revelation and literally awakens the soul. Simply put this album is perfect and i cant wait for more. Ben Howard, Ed Sheeran, Damian Rice and Ray lamontange all rolled into one.

  • Awesomely different

Hoziers unique voice and dark tones wouldn't be my typical choice of music, however 'take me to church' had me under his spell, listened to the preview tracks and knew it would be an album I would love.....and it was from my first full listen! No regrets, quirky, unique and hidden depths.
  • Hozier is my God

From the in-depth lyrics he writes to the sensational voice he has , Hozier is amazing . The first time I heard take me to church I couldn't breathe. He's magic.
